At 26, John Sjöstrand was rejected by Oslo’s Michelin-starred restaurant “Le Canard,” being told he lacked the right qualifications to step into the kitchen. After three weeks of working for free, he was offered a position – and then excelled in the acclaimed restaurant kitchen for the next two years. In 2024, Villa Strandvägen was awarded a fork by the Nordic restaurant guide “Falstaff Guide.” The Villa scored an impressive 84 out of 100 points, making it one of Sweden’s 100 best restaurants.
